It struck me the other day when sitting on the patio of a favourite meeting…
Wednesday Wisdom – The Greatness of Going off the Grid
The power of the quiet, stillness and solitude when nestled in the mountains without cell phone reception, electricity and connectivity for a few days last week was an inspiration.
It reminded me of how easily we forget to pay attention to the restorative value of communing with Mother Nature, let alone invest in spending time in her arms.
The days are longer; the sunshine warmer; the nights more restful and our senses more attuned when we step ‘outside’.
The natural space allows immersion in the freshness of the breeze and the coolness of calm.
The search for the ever elusive formula for balance need go no further than spending time in the closest mountain range. This ‘time out’ enables the expansive silence to deafen the constant internal narrative calling for the need to be ‘doing,’ opening up space for simply ‘being’.
Going off the grid is a great way to revive the spirit, rejuvenate the soul and rejoice in wonder of living.
If you haven’t tuned out recently, the time is now.
